Agricultural Insurance Act Article 8
Based on the policy objective and the specific demands of the industry policy of agriculture, forestry, fishery and animal industry businesses, agricultural insurance may be handled by full or partial mandatory insurance or voluntary insurance. When the insured party for the mandatory insurance fails to buy the insurance as required, the competent authority may withhold or at its discretion reduce the relevant measures related to the subject matter insured, including grant, subsidy, incentive reward, aid and relief.With respect to the mandatory insurance specified in the preceding paragraph, the subject matter insured, scope, insured party, the measures that may be taken against an insured party for the mandatory insurance who fails to buy the insurance as required and other matters to be complied with shall be prescribed by the competent authority.

農業保險得視政策目的及農、林、漁、牧個別產業政策需求，採全部或部分強制投保、自願投保方式辦理；強制投保對象未依規定投保者，主管機關得不給予或酌減與該保險標的相關之補助、補貼、獎勵、輔導、救助等相關措施。
前項強制投保之標的、範圍、對象、對強制投保對象未依規定投保得採取之措施及其他應遵行事項之辦法，由主管機關定之。
