Regulations for the Fishing Operations of Coastal and Offshore Tuna Longline Fishing Vessels Article 18

The total annual quota of bigeye tuna in the coastal and offshore area shall be limited to 400 metric tons.The period for using the total annual quota as referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be from January 1 to December 31 of the current year.In the event that the total catch amount of bigeye tuna has reached 90% of the total annual quota as referred to in paragraph 1, the central competent authority may order to stop fishing for bigeye tuna by a deadline.Any bigeye tuna caught by a tuna longline fishing vessel after the deadline as referred to in the preceding paragraph shall be discarded and the number(s) discarded shall be recorded in the logbooks or the E-logbook.
