Regulations Governing the Implementation and Monitoring of Type Certification for Mechanical Products Article 16
The type number of a product shall be used as the type for making the application for type certification. If the product has no type number, the specifications, characters or codes may be used as the type for type certification.The type number, specifications, characters or codes of the product shall be easily identifiable and determined by the obligatory applicant when the application for type certification is made.Products with the same basic design may be classified as series of types.

報驗義務人申請型式驗證，其產品之型式應依產品型號定之。
但產品無型號者，得以規格、文字或編碼為之。
前項產品之型號、規格、文字或編碼，應具有顯著識別性，並由報驗義務人於申請型式驗證時定之。
基本設計相同之產品，得歸類為系列型式。
