Pilotage Law Article 17
Any vessel requires to call a pilot shall fly the call-pilot signal as used universally or specified by ROC government authority. The owner or master of a vessel may communicate with a pilot's local agency about the employment of pilot in advance. 招請引水人之船舶，應懸掛國際通用或中華民國規定之招請引水人信號，並得由船舶所有人或船長事前向當地引水人辦事處辦理招請手續。
