Postal Act Article 34
If not exercised, the sender’s or addressee’s right of indemnity shall be extinguished six months from the date the mail item is posted.Where the sender or the addressee has inquired with regard to said mail item with Chunghwa Post during the period as mentioned in the preceding paragraph, it shall be deemed that the right of indemnity has been exercised.

寄件人或收件人之補償請求權，自郵件交寄之日起，逾六個月不行使而消滅。
寄件人或收件人，如於前項期間內曾向中華郵政公司查詢該郵件者，以已經請求補償論。
