Water Supply Act Article 93
Water pipe installation contractors shall be registered with the local municipal or county (city) government and join the relevant water pipe engineering industry association before starting business. The mechanics of water pipe installation contractors shall not start to work until having passed the examination and received a certificate.When applying for water supply from the water supply enterprise for the installation project between the water meter and the water slug of the water supply equipment of tap water users, the contractors should attach the membership certification form issued by the relevant water pipe engineering industry association. However, this does not apply to those installed by the water supply enterprise, entrusted by the water supply enterprise, or if there is no association in the offshore island area.The measure regulations for examining the mechanics of water pipe installation contractors shall be stipulated by the central authority-in-charge.

自來水管承裝商應向所在地直轄市或縣（市）政府申請許可並加入相關水管工程工業同業公會始得營業。
自來水管承裝商之技工，應經考驗及格給予證書始得工作。
自來水用戶用水設備之量水器後至水栓間裝設工程，向自來水事業申請供水時，應檢附相關水管工程工業同業公會核發之申請供水會員會籍證明單。
但由自來水事業裝設、由自來水事業委託裝設或離島地區無公會單位者，不在此限。
自來水管承裝商技工考驗辦法，由中央主管機關訂定之。
自來水管承裝商之技工，應經考驗及格給予證書始得工作。
