Prison Act Article 27
Where a prison cannot provide shelter in the event of a natural disaster or incident, the inmates may be escorted to an alternative facility. Where the escort cannot be facilitated in a timely manner, the inmates may be temporarily released.The inmates temporarily released in accordance with the preceding paragraph shall report to the prison or a police agency within 48 hours after being released. Inmates that report in a timely manner may have their release period counted as time served; those that fail to report in a timely manner shall be processed as escapees.

遇有天災、事變在監獄內無法防避時，得將受刑人護送於相當處所；不及護送時，得暫行釋放。
前項暫行釋放之受刑人，由離監時起限四十八小時內，至該監或警察機關報到。
其按時報到者，在外期間予以計算刑期；屆期不報到者，以脫逃罪論處。
