A person who places poisonous or harmful substance sanitation in a water sources, waterway, or reservoir intended for the supply of water to the public shall be sentenced to imprisonment for not less than one year but not more than seven years.If the offense results in death, the offender shall be sentenced to life imprisonment or imprisonment for not less than seven years; if the offense results in serious physical injury, the offender shall be sentenced to imprisonment for not less than three years but not more than ten yearsA person who negligently commits the offense specified in paragraph 1 shall be sentenced to imprisonment for not more than six months, short-term imprisonment, or a fine of not more than nine thousand dollars.An attempt to commit an offense specified in paragraph 1 is punishable.

投放毒物或混入妨害衛生物品於供公眾所飲之水源、水道或自來水池者，處一年以上七年以下有期徒刑。
因而致人於死者，處無期徒刑或七年以上有期徒刑；致重傷者，處三年以上十年以下有期徒刑。
因過失犯第一項之罪者，處六月以下有期徒刑、拘役或九千元以下罰金。
第一項之未遂犯罰之。
