Civil Code Article 978

One party to an agreement to marry, who breaks it without any of the grounds provided in Article 976, shall be liable to compensate the other party for any damage thus sustained.

婚約當事人之一方，無第九百七十六條之理由而違反婚約者，對於他方因此所受之損害，應負賠償之責。
