Civil Code Article 931

Upon the insolvency of the debtor, the creditor has the right of retention, even before the claim has matured.If the debtor becomes insolvent after the delivery of the personal property or if his insolvency becomes known to the creditor only after such delivery, the creditor may exercise his right of retention, even if there exists a conflict referred to in the preceding article.

債務人無支付能力時，債權人縱於其債權未屆清償期前，亦有留置權。
債務人於動產交付後，成為無支付能力，或其無支付能力於交付後始為債權人所知者，其動產之留置，縱有前條所定之牴觸情形，債權人仍得行使留置權。
