Civil Code Article 922

If, for the duration of the dian, the property dianed is wholly or partially destroyed due tothe dian-holder's fault, he is liable for such destruction to the extent of the amount of theprice given for the dian. However, if the destruction is caused by his intentional actions orgross negligence, he shall compensate for further injury, in addition to that covered by theprice given for the dian.

典權存續中，因典權人之過失，致典物全部或一部滅失者，典權人於典價額限度內，負其責任。
