Civil Code Article 892

If the thing pledged is likely to be perishable or there is an obvious depreciation in its value sufficient to prejudice the rights of the pledgee, the pledgee may sell the thing pledged by auction and keep the proceeds from sale in place of the thing pledged.Under the circumstances referred to in the preceding paragraph, the pledgee shall lodge the proceeds from sale of the thing pledged with a court if the pledgor so requests. The pledgee may enforce its pledge rights against the thing lodged with the court if the pledgee has not received payment upon maturity of the claim.

因質物有腐壞之虞，或其價值顯有減少，足以害及質權人之權利者，質權人得拍賣質物，以其賣得價金，代充質物。
前項情形，如經出質人之請求，質權人應將價金提存於法院。
質權人屆債權清償期而未受清償者，得就提存物實行其質權。
