Civil Code Article 751

If the creditor waives the rights in rem on which his claim is secured, the guarantor is released from his obligation to the extent of the rights which have been waived.

債權人拋棄為其債權擔保之物權者，保證人就債權人所拋棄權利之限度內，免其責任。
