Civil Code Article 469

The borrower is bound to bear the ordinary expenses for the maintenance of the thing lent. The same rule shall apply to the cost of provender in the case of a loan of animals.If the borrower incurs any beneficial outlays for the thing lent in consequence of increasing the value of the thing lent, the provisions of the first paragraph of Article 431 shall be mutatis mutandis applied.The borrower may remove any additions to the thing lent which he has made, unless he shall restore the thing lent to its status quo ante.

借用物之通常保管費用，由借用人負擔。
借用物為動物者，其飼養費亦同。
借用人就借用物支出有益費用，因而增加該物之價值者，準用第四百三十一條第一項之規定。
借用人就借用物所增加之工作物，得取回之。
但應回復借用物之原狀。
