Civil Code Article 226

If the performance becomes impossible by reason of a circumstance to which the debtor is imputed, the creditor may claim compensation for any injury arising therefrom.In the case specified in the preceding paragraph, if one part of the performance becomes impossible and the remaining part, if performed, will be of no interests to the creditor, the creditor may refuse the performance of the remaining part and claim compensation for the injury arising from complete non-performance.

因可歸責於債務人之事由，致給付不能者，債權人得請求賠償損害。
前項情形，給付一部不能者，若其他部分之履行，於債權人無利益時，債權人得拒絕該部之給付，請求全部不履行之損害賠償。
