Senior high school textbooks shall be compiled by the private parties in principle, and may be compiled by the central competent authority if necessary.Senior high school textbooks shall be examined by National Academy for Educational Research; regulations regarding applying for qualification for textbook examiner, application procedures, examination range, examination procedures, fee, issuing and termination of examiner’s license, printing specifications, editing of book, compilation and grant for materials of rare subjects, and other relevant matters shall be stipulated by the central competent authority.

高級中等學校教科用書，以由民間編輯為原則，必要時，得由中央主管機關編定之。
高級中等學校教科用書，由國家教育研究院審定；申請教科用書審定者之資格、申請程序、審查範圍、審查程序、費額、審定執照之發給與廢止、印製規格、成書修訂、稀有類科教材之編訂與獎助及其他相關事項之辦法，由中央主管機關定之。
