Supplementary and Continuing Education Act Article 3
Supplementary and continuing education can be categorized into three types: supplementary compulsory education, continuing education, and short-term supplementary education; supplementary compulsory education is provided to those who are over the age of schooling and have not yet received nine years of compulsory education; those who have already received nine years of compulsory education may receive continuing education; and those who wish to improve their life skills may receive short-term supplementary education.

補習及進修教育區分為國民補習教育、進修教育及短期補習教育三種；凡已逾學齡未受九年國民教育之國民，予以國民補習教育；已受九年國民教育之國民，得受進修教育；志願增進生活知能之國民，得受短期補習教育。
