Regulations Governing the Examination and Recognition of Educational Records from Hong Kong and Macao Article 2
Terms used in these Regulations are defined below:1. Examination: refers to the careful examination of graduation certificates, degrees, higher diplomas, or certificates of attendance from educational institutions of all kinds and levels in Hong Kong or Macao.2. Recognition: refers to examining educational records from Hong Kong or Macao and making a determination that they are equivalent to those issued by an educational institution in the Taiwan Area of an equivalent academic level and nature3. List of approved educational institutions: refers to the list compiled and published by the Ministry of Education of the names and addresses of the tertiary educational institutions or institutes in Hong Kong and Macao that have had approval of the quality of their research and teaching undertaken by the Ministry of Education.

本辦法用詞，定義如下：
一、檢覈：指香港或澳門各級各類學校畢業證（明）書、學位證（明）書、高級文憑或肄業證（明）書之審查。
二、採認：指經檢覈後就香港或澳門學歷與臺灣地區同級同類學校相當之學歷之認定。
三、認可名冊：指教育部（以下簡稱本部）就香港或澳門高等學校或機構之研究及教學品質進行認可後，收錄其名稱、地址所彙集並公告之名冊。
