Amendments to the Regulations Governing Preferential Admission for Academic Advancement for Students with Outstanding Achievements in International Mathematics or Science Olympiads and International Science Fairs Article 7
Graduating students who meet the eligibility requirements set out in the preceding four articles and who are applying for guaranteed or recommended preferential admission for academic advancement shall, within two months after meeting the requirements, submit a photocopy of their graduation certificate or a photocopy of a certification that the student has completed non-school-based experimental education at the senior secondary school level, a photocopy of the award certificate received while representing Taiwan or related documentary evidence, and the original copies of their transcripts for all years. The applications are handled in accordance with the following provisions:1.International mathematics or science olympiads:(1)The applications of junior high and senior secondary school students are submitted to the Ministry by their schools for it to handle.(2)The competent authority of the special municipality, county, or city where students who are not registered as a student at a senior secondary school are receiving non-school-based experimental education at the senior secondary school level will submit such students’ applications to the Ministry for it to handle.2.International science fairs:(1)The applications of junior high school and senior secondary school students will be submitted to the organizing unit in Taiwan by their respective schools and the organizing unit will review and then forward the applications to the Ministry for it to handle.(2)The applications of students who are not registered as a student at a senior secondary school who are receiving non-school-based experimental education at the senior secondary school level will be submitted to the organizing unit in Taiwan by the competent authority of the students’ special municipality, county, or city and the organizing unit will review and then will review and then forward the applications to the Ministry for it to handle.The application for preferential admission for academic advancement of a student who is not graduating in the current academic year who meets the eligibility criteria set out in the preceding four articles shall be lodged within two months after the beginning of the first semester of the academic year in which the student is scheduled to graduate and the application will be handled in accordance with the provisions of the preceding paragraph.If a student has not yet graduated, the graduation certificate or certification that must be submitted that is referred to in the two preceding paragraphs is replaced by a certificate of study. If a student who is not registered as a student at a senior secondary school is receiving non-school-based experimental education at the senior secondary school level, a document issued by the competent authority of the special the special municipality, county, or city where the student is verifying the student’s status will be used as a replacement for the graduation certificate or certification.Students applying for preferential admission for academic advancement in accordance with the provisions of the preceding four articles and of the preceding three paragraphs shall rank their applications based on where they prefer to undertake their next level of education. When a student meets the eligibility criteria to lodge two or more applications at the same time, the student shall rank the different applications based on their personal preferences. Once the application has been submitted to the Ministry, the student is not permitted to apply to change them, add more preferences, or change the order of their preferences. If the student is accepted by two or more colleges or universities, the student will be admitted to the college or university that the student ranked highest.Apart from students applying for guaranteed admission to the department of medicine or the department of dentistry of a college or university, for which each college or university may separately set regulations governing student admission reviews, if the Ministry has reviewed a student and the student meets the eligibility criteria for guaranteed admission, the college or university shall accept the student.

符合前四條規定而申請升學優待之應屆畢業生，應於符合資格後二個月內，檢具畢業證（明）書影本或完成高級中等教育階段實驗教育證明影本、獲獎或相關證明文件影本及歷年成績單正本，依下列規定辦理：
一、國際數理學科奧林匹亞競賽：
（一）高級中等學校及國民中學學生，由其就讀學校報請本部辦理。
（二）參與高級中等教育階段非學校型態實驗教育未取得學籍學生，由直轄市、縣（市）主管機關報請本部辦理。
二、國際科學展覽：
（一）高級中等學校及國民中學學生，由其就讀學校送請國內主辦單位核轉本部辦理。
（二）參與高級中等教育階段非學校型態實驗教育未取得學籍學生，由直轄市、縣（市）主管機關送請國內主辦單位核轉本部辦理。
學生於非屬畢業之學年度符合前四條規定者，其申請升學優待，應於畢業當學年度第一學期開學後二個月內，依前項規定辦理。
前二項應檢具之畢業證（明）書，於學生未畢業前，以在學證明書代之；參與高級中等教育階段非學校型態實驗教育未取得學籍學生，以直轄市、縣（市）主管機關發給學生身分證明代之。
學生依前四條及前三項規定申請升學優待時，應就其升學之志願予以排序；其提出申請時，同時符合二種以上申請資格者，應將其依不同資格而申請之升學志願予以排序；經向本部申請後，不得申請變更、增補志願或變更其排序；其經二個以上志願學校錄取者，以排序在前之學校優先錄取。
經本部審查符合保送升學規定之學生，除申請保送大學醫學系及牙醫學系者，各大學得另定規定予以審查外，學校應予接受。
