Passport Act Article 11
Diplomatic and official passports are valid for up to five years. Ordinary passports are valid for up to 10 years. However, for those under 14 years of age, ordinary passports are valid for up to five years.The actual validity of passports may be determined by the Competent Authority within the limits specified in the preceding paragraph.The validity of passports may not be extended upon expiry.

外交護照及公務護照之效期以五年為限，普通護照以十年為限。
但未滿十四歲者之普通護照以五年為限。
前項護照效期，主管機關得於其限度內酌定之。
護照效期屆滿，不得延期。
