Regulations Governing the Administrative Affairs of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs Article 6
The Department of East Asian and Pacific Affairs shall be responsible for the following:1. Handle affairs concerning the countries of Japan, South Korea, and North Korea2. Handle affairs concerning the countries of Thailand, Singapore, Malaysia, the Philippines, Indonesia, Brunei, Vietnam, Laos, Cambodia, Myanmar, and East Timor3. Handle affairs concerning the countries of Australia, New Zealand, Fiji, Tonga, Nauru, Tuvalu, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Western Samoa, Vanuatu, Kiribati, Marshall Islands, and Palau, as well as other Pacific island nations4. Handle affairs concerning the countries of Bangladesh, Bhutan, Nepal, Sri Lanka, India, and Maldives as well as the regions of Hong Kong and Macau5. Handle affairs concerning Asia-Pacific regional organizations, economic and technical cooperation, and fishing vessel incidents6. Handle other affairs concerning the Asia-Pacific region

亞東太平洋司掌理事項如下：
一、對日本、韓國及北韓事務。
二、對泰國、新加坡、馬來西亞、菲律賓、印尼、汶萊、越南、寮國、柬埔寨、緬甸及東帝汶等國事務。
三、對澳大利亞、紐西蘭、斐濟、東加、諾魯、吐瓦魯、巴布亞紐幾內亞、索羅門群島、西薩摩亞、萬那杜、吉里巴斯、馬紹爾群島、帛琉及其他太平洋諸島國事務。
四、對孟加拉、不丹、尼泊爾、斯里蘭卡、印度、馬爾地夫等國及香港、澳門地區事務。
五、對亞太地區區域性國際組織事務、經濟與技術合作及漁船遇難事務。
六、其他有關亞太地區事項。
一、對日本、韓國及北韓事務。
