Police Personnel Management Act Article 26
Police personnel who have been promoted to a higher class shall be paid at the lowest salary level of that class; personnel who have originally been paid at a salary level higher than the lowest salary level of the class they are promoted to shall be paid at the equivalent salary level of the higher class.Police personnel who have been promoted to a higher rank shall be paid at the lowest salary level of that rank; personnel who have originally been paid at a salary level higher than the lowest salary level of the rank they are promoted to shall be paid at the equivalent salary level of the higher rank.Police personnel transferred to lower-class positions at the same rank shall still be appointed to the same class and be paid at the same salary level.

晉階之警察官，核敘所晉官階本俸最低級；原敘俸級高於所晉官階本俸最低級者，換敘同數額之本俸或年功俸。
升任高一官等警察官，自所升官等最低官階本俸最低級起敘；原敘俸級高於起敘俸級者，換敘同數額之本俸或年功俸。
調任同官等低官階職務之警察官，仍以原官階任用並敘原俸級。
