Police Personnel Management Act Article 21
The authority to appoint officers of various ranks is divided as follows:1. Positions of Police General shall be appointed by the Ministry of the Interior or be proposed to the Executive Yuan for appointment.2. Positions of Police Superintendent and Police Sergeant shall be appointed by the Ministry of the Interior or by the governments of special municipalities.

警察職務之遴任權限，劃分如下：
