Regulations Governing Road Traffic Accidents Article 11
After exploration and evidence collection on the site of the accident are completed, the police authority shall give notice to the relevant department to clean up the site, remove control measures and restore traffic.The police authority shall maintain the integrity of accident scene after a major traffic accident or a probable major traffic accident occurs. If any of the following situations is likely to occur, the police authority shall conduct necessary clean-up of the scene after consulting with the investigator designated by the TTSB to be responsible for the investigation:1. The wreckage may have a significant impact on the smooth flow and safety of traffic;2. The wreckage may sustain further damage;3. It may cause a second disaster;4. It may cause harm to other people;5. It may pollute the environment.

事故地點勘察、蒐證工作完成後，警察機關應即通知有關單位清理現場，並撤除管制，迅速恢復交通。
重大道路交通事故案件或疑似重大道路交通事故案件發生後，警察機關應維持事故現場之完整，有下列情形之一發生之虞者，應與運安會指定負責調查作業之調查官協商後對事故現場進行必要之清理：
一、對道路交通順暢及安全有重大影響。
二、殘骸受到二度破壞。
三、發生二次災害。
四、一般民眾受到傷害。
五、環境污染。
重大道路交通事故案件或疑似重大道路交通事故案件發生後，警察機關應維持事故現場之完整，有下列情形之一發生之虞者，應與運安會指定負責調查作業之調查官協商後對事故現場進行必要之清理：
