Design Standards of Urban Roads and Accessory Works Article 5
Design and planning regulations of main roads:1. Pedestrian lanes should be to reserved to foster a friendly and safe urban environment.2. Road design must pay close attention to the landscape, strive for beautification, and public facilities should be reserved.3. Traffic lane may be provided pursuant to the nature of road traffic and actual conditions of the road.4. Where main road level crosses another main road or secondary road, proper traffic control signs shall be installed; where main road level crosses a service road, make sure that the service road does not cross a median divider or fast and slow lane divider. However, where such crossing is authorized by the competent authorities, proper traffic control sign(s) shall be installed at the intersection of the level crossing.

主要道路及次要道路之規劃設計規定如下：
一、為營造都市友善安全環境，應留設人行道。
二、道路設計須重視景觀、力求美化，應留設公共設施帶。
三、依運輸特性、道路實質條件等需要，設置車道。
四、與其他主要道路或次要道路平面交叉，應設置號誌實施管制；與服務道路平面交叉時，不得穿越中央分隔或快慢分隔設施。
但經該管主管機關許可者，得採平面交叉路口，並設置號誌實施管制。
