Organic Act of the Architecture and Building Research Institute, Ministry of the Interior Article 2
The Institute shall be in charge of the following matters:1. Research and suggestion-making of policies and regulations for building development.2. Research and development of building planning, design, usage management, as well as the living environment quality.3. Research and development of building safety and disaster prevention.4. Research and development of building construction and structural engineering.5. Research and development of building production, construction techniques, and construction quality.6. Research and development of intelligent building technology, building environment control, and energy conservation technology.7. Research, testing, examination, application, and promotion of building facilities, materials, and new construction methods.8. Introduction, research and development of building management systems and state-of-the-art techniques from various countries.9. To promote and assist private organizations specializing in self-liquidating, technical and service businesses under this Article.10.Other research and development matters related to architecture and building Research.

八、各國建築管理制度及建築技術之引進、研究發展。
九、民間成立辦理本條具自償性、技術性及服務性等業務專責機構之推動及輔導。
十、其他有關建築研究發展事項。
